Nidec Motor Corporation seeks candidates for a Warehouse Supervisor Outbound to support Nidec Motor Corporation’s businesses. This position is located in Southaven, MS.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for daily execution of outbound warehouse functions to include:  standard operation procedures of Order Picking, Repack, Parcel Processing, QC, and Shipping and projects as needed/determined.  This position requires the ability to perform these responsibilities in a safe, accurate and timely manner in accordance with Safety policy & procedures, Quality and the principles of 6S3Q, and time standards.  Regular attendance is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the role. 

 Position reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager, working as part of the Southaven management team to drive continuous improvement through the use of metrics to achieve logistics excellence in service, quality and cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of all programs related to the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.
  • Supervise departmental employees and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and Improve procedures directly related to the flow of product.
  • Responsible for generalist warehouse duties as needed:  Order Picking, Repack, parcel processing and Shipping.
  • Provide shift operations with order management and inventory support.
  • Provides a thorough understanding of the warehouse processes and systems to be able to proactively manage and work independently on any issue in a timely manner and provide an accurate resolution.
  • Assist other warehouse supervisors, management, and/or hourly personnel with issues to ensure all orders are processed correctly within time limits.
  • Interact with Manager and peers to apply sound communication and motivational techniques with warehouse personnel.  Effectively communicate with external resources including customer service, carriers and suppliers.
  • Responsible for maintaining KPI’s and address negative variances and implement solutions to address KPI’s falling below prescribed Alarm Levels.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of all programs related to quality.
  • Monitor and ensure current and accurate inventory control.
  • Implement process changes in an effort to ensure proficiency and accuracy.
  • Collection of data/statistics and preparation of reports required by the Manager &/or Director.
  • Process timekeeping, payroll duties as required.
  • Monitoring the cleanliness, working conditions (A) of all allocated resources OR  (B) and status of assigned resources within the facility.
  • Serves as a back-up for other warehouse supervisory roles as needed.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising good judgment to ensure safety, quality and productivity of all associates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • BS/BA degree:  Major in Business, Logistics or related field or AS degree and 10 years equivalent experience
  • 5 (five) years direct experience in warehousing and logistics process management
  • 3 (three) years in a leadership role supervising people and processes
  • Experience with WMS software application.  JDA a plus.
  • Valid Powered Industrial Truck Certification beneficial
  • Valid Driver’s license

Skills:

  • Computer literacy to include Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer)
  • Communication skills-ability to communicate with all levels within the organization to include customers, corporate office contacts, employees and managers.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to develop working relationships as a team builder and motivator, providing effective leadership

Physical Demands:

Position requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending, talking in person and by phone or video; the stamina to work the shift as scheduled and on a regular basis, ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility with exposure to heat and/or cold in accordance with weather conditions, lifting large, small or awkwardly shaped items on a regular or repeated basis as needed, domestic and international travel by car, plane, train; extensive use of computer equipment.
